Today is the 50th anniversary of the Cuba Missile crises

A half-century ago today, the Cuban missile crises began. On October =6, 1962, President John F. Kennedy, after learning that the Soviet =nion had secretly installing missiles in Castro's Cuba, responded =oldly and decisively. Placing American forces on their highest state =f alert, he gave the Soviet Union an ultimatum: Remove all the =issiles from Cuba or face a nuclear war. Thirteen days later, the =oviet Union acquisced. The missiles were removed but Fidel Castro =emained in power. So JFK decided to remove Castro by other means. =he CIA recruited an assassin in Castro's inner circle. But Castro =earned of the plot in September 1963.
