Re: FW: Israel
sorry to hear about zara, hope you are well.
Still laugh when I think about you making Morgan say WOOF to me on the phone.
Happy holidays.
Grandma,
Read this.
I recently met Yitzhak Frankenthal, the father of a soldier slain by Hamas in 1994. That event led Yitzhak to dedicate his life to peace. But he is not a peacenik, he is not a leftist, and he is not crazy. So, he developed a psychologically sound approach which was studied with statistic significance in a process financed by the singer Leonard Cohen before he passed away a year ago. The findings were published in the US journal ( Proceedings of the National Academy of Science ) two separate times. I've attached the stuff Yitzhak sent me.
The attachments are psycho-sciencemumblejumble, but look at the website https://conflict-frtp.org and scroll down to the Why We Did It and What We Did section. Fascinating.
As you will see, he is not trying to change anyone's politics. He is simply trying to get people to let go of their personal need for the conflict, for whatever reason they have that need, and he has succeeded with both right wing Israelis and with hard core Palestinians.
He says it will take about $5 million for him to cover the whole of Israel and West Bank with his program. I am not at all involved with him and I hate psychiatry, psychology, psy whatever. Nonetheless, he apparently is on to an interesting way of reducing the tension over there, and I thought you might be interested. From what I understand, the leftists think Yitzhak is not left enough, and the conservatives think he is not tough enough. But I have heard and seen enough to think you should take a look.
His contact info is below.
Aside from that, How are you dear Grandma? Life goes on over here. Zara was very ill for much of the year with a bizarre and rare lung disease, not so good when she has twin 4 year old girls and is the breadwinner. But she seems to be coming out of it.
