Re: your crazy scientist friend in the news
trees take =onger . keeping one part healthy , might rob the system of ene=gy . complex systems are not usually amenable to a=single parameter fix. especailllly over a long time. .=C2 views?
always happy to trade views with you but f=ankly you are being pretty cryptic.
between =s physicists ... this whole idea of entropy seem to break down around huma=s at least there is a local decrease in entropy, which must be b=ffered globally somehow
I know you like plan=s, but the trees are very different cattle of fish from us. There are some=/div> which live a few thousands of years ... and it's not clear w=ere is an "individual" when it comes to trees and othe= plants ... they reproduce in funny ways.
is=temperature a "simple parameter" in your book ? my daphnia live =wice longer without clear reduction in "healthspan" if=you bring the temp down 10 deg. We know reactions slow down approxim=tely 2x per 10deg , "approximately" being the key word=here ... It is not at all clear how cold-blooded animals as complex system= compensate very different processes to exist comfortably in a r=nge of 20 deg C
