Just when she thought her latest money troubles were over thanks to a film deal for her children's books, the Duchess of York faces financial worry once again.

It also posted a pre-tax loss of £6.3 million for the year to December 2008, down from £8.2 million in the previous year. Staff at the firm found their pay cheques did not arrive on time on several occasions over the past two-and-a-half years.

The company, whose chairman is Richard Northcott, former boss of celebrity jewellers Theo Fennell, has been involved with three films in the past year - Planet 51, the animated sci-fi movie which cost £38 million and has so far taken £21 million at the box office, Fifty Dead Men Walking with Sir Ben Kingsley, and Cracks, a thriller starring Bond Girl Eva Green.
