For what regards the correlation of escaping real life I agree. I have no intention of living a shitty life. It makes me fall into depression. Especially when you've seen what's better. I prefer to escape or not to live at all.

I've never took any drugs in my life and don't drink any alcohol. I just get bored of "normal" life and it makes me fall into depression.
Actually there is a big difference between me and a drug addict. When I'm in a comfortable situation doing everything I like with nothing to worry about and with someone I love I don't feel any need to escape. I don't want to be left on my own. A drug addict feels the need to escape even in the most comfortable and stress free situation. The other difference is that the state and the situation that I want to reach is perfectly reachable in real life and most of it can be solved with money (except for love). Contrary, with drugs you escape in a totally fictional world that doesn't exist in real life and the only way to go back to it is taking more drugs.
