I'm not sure completely what the context is on=this email, but I would add that the currency layer to money adds degrees =f fungibility of that promise.
Also, in repeated games the tracking =f promises can be made more substantive as credulity is built on the expec=ation of promises to be kept.

In a sense, coinage is the evidence -- currency in many forms leave= no evidence. This is a pretty major point of recent (1980's+) anthrop=logy, that early forms of currency never enter the anthropological record =ecause they leave no trace.
of course not when the promise is fulfilled it=disintegrates. unless. used for another purpose. t=xes :)
