Fwd: ZDC Microwave Project Update
Jeffrey, Future Tech are scheduled to be on site July 31st for the installation of the Microwave Link from Sandia Crest to Main House. The installation is expected to take 5 to 7 days. There have been some changes to the initial design due to engineering and tower owner concerns. The existing T1 link will be decommissioned, and new antennas will be installed in place of the existing ones. T1 Phone service and Data services will use the new link. Please note during this time, phone services to the Ranch will be disrupted.

The initial install entailed laying 6-8 ft of conduit from CenturyLink Demark to an existing conduit owned by tower owner, Sierra Nevada Towers. The tower owner has indicated the existing conduit has been badly damaged and there will be a need to lay a new run of conduit from Demark to his building. Sierra Nevada has indicated an estimated cost of $4500.00, with work to be completed by Thursday next week. I initially indicated to Rich that we could perform this work for $3500.00, but after reviewing the scope of work with Future Tech, I would advise Sierra Nevada to perform this work. CenturyLink has indicated this could possibly delay the install of the circuit. Do I have your approval to move forward with Sierra Nevada? Regards, Brice
Forwarded message from Brice Gordon regarding the ZDC Microwave Project Update. Jeffrey advised Future Tech of concerns regarding downtime of phone service during the installation of the new Microwave link. The best they can do is slide the existing T1 link down the tower on Sandia Crest and Ranch, reestablish service which will take two days and four men, costing $6800.00, with downtime of 2 days instead of 5 days once the new link is installed. Decommissioning the old T1 link will have downtime of 2-4 hours.
