What they do appears to be physiological and consistent with the embodied knowing vs. conceptual knowing (thought can presence) and not being able to do both at the same time (eye contact). Jay gunkelman also has a theory.

Lots of interesting experiments possible when you have many readers and an underlying theoretical basis.

why dont we just put david to his own claim. 25 photos. 25 names. randomize and see how he does. without that first test I have no further interest.

As I mentioned, we have a theoretical foundation which may help in the experimental design.

Ideally, the 25 photos and names should come from one source with a person who has a relationship with the people. David's understanding of the people when he reads them would be tracing the relationship between the asking person and the person asked. I would think that the link was emotionally based (otherwise why are they asking something) which, by my framework, is a binding between a symbol and physiological processes from some experience in space and time. The stronger the symbolic meaning (emotional attachment), the greater the connection. The pictures should be within a period (recent) perhaps? The result would also give insight into how language works (also binding of symbol to somatic). Any other thoughts?

As he's read one of your girls (Karyna?), perhaps we could task her to get 25 pictures of her friends and people that she knows.

Whatever the costs to set up, you can take it out of the 100K (just leave 60K for the conference events that I'd like to run). I'm also happy to fly out to NYC to witness the experiment.
