A modest proposal (the book I'd like to write...)

Hi Jeffrey,

I thought about your troubles convincing your colleague that now is the time for AGI...

Here is the book I'd like to spend the next 6 months writing, synthesizing the theoretical work I've been doing recently with the practical work my team has been doing in NLP and embodied learning...

... I have it in draft form but getting all the details in place will be take some time...

How about this plan:

1. You fund me for 6 months to write the book

2. Then you give copies to your AGI skeptic friends ... and I bet the book convinces them AGI is worth funding now...

I have the idea of selling copies of the book in advance, to pay my expenses while I write it.

But I don't know if that will work... I kinda doubt it, although I have to give it a shot, unless something else good happens (like you)
