RE:
i like the rusell page steps , from lower levels upward.. someone can go see the Iv homes .. doug? gary?
Please ask to email a reference photo from the Russell Page book on the steps that you like.
I've talked to the LV Homes people and they really are limited in what they provide. They basically only provide a shell frame home with no interior finishes, no cabinets, no windows & no doors. All of the finishes and completion would have to be done on site. I was hoping that they could provide a totally finished modular prefab home. But after talking to them, that is not what they do.
I had another conversation with the MK Glidehouse group who have been acquired recently by Blu Homes who can provide a totally finished modular prefab home and they arc sending further information.
Also talked to the Marmol Radziner Company and they probably are the most capable and organized out of all three. The main issue is that they are located in LA and shipping of the completed modules may be an issue, but I'm looking into it. Their module size may be too large to ship on an ocean going barge or ship, but I'm getting their specifications. They would have to get the modules trucked to Miami and then barged over. Their custom designs are impressive and the fit & finish is very nice. They stated that they are in the process of opening a prefab plant in South Carolina so that would be a big savings in cost & time for delivery.
After reviewing the designs and capabilities of these three companies, I believe that we can basically replace the existing Kite House with a new building in its place and keep the pool and most of the site work. I'll do a quick sketch plan to show you how the typical modular home would work with what we already have. We need to study it further.
