I guess the question is what type of "sigh" is he referring to sigh of relief sigh of regret Because he does say "and that has made all of the difference."

Which suggests that regardless of the experience taking the road less traveled it did make all the difference. Wouldn't that lead you to believe that he is inidicating that it was worth it.
