Report 119: Foot, human rights, "VIPs" w/ attitude

Some important sheikh from the royal family came to visit our campus. My colleagues were wondering if I really must wear hot-pink flipflops with fluff on them to work. Granted I have a bad foot in need of friendly footwear, but still...

When discussing the guidelines for the new policies and procedures for employees, I suggested a suicide hotline for the employees.

We have the Human RIghts Watch on our ass and I'm the one being sent to the trenches to communicate with them. I mean, come on... am I really the best choice for this task...? My jokes about how overworked I am with a Blackberry attached to me 24/7, and the Human Rights Watch being snoopier than the CIA, didn't go over so well with the guy...

NYU AD will get on the Human Rights Watch List for having people work with me!

Now to the most hilarious part of this email: Chelsea Clinton along with other "VIPs" arc coming to NYU AD to visit. The NYU staff dealing with the VIPs itineraries do not want to send it to me due to confidentiality. Since you all know my professional background in New York, you understand how ludicrous this is.

These people fly commercial and yet they call themselves "VIPs"... How does that work...?

What I've learned over my years with a brilliant man in NY and far less brilliant people thereafter is that someone in real power is humble and flies under the radar.

Out of cast, but my foot is still pretty balloon-like and painful.
