it is true that I am only interested in being right... I just finished going over the Feynman book Galleys, and it is a damn good book.. I felt so good to be able to send you the early version, but the final version reads really well and is full of insights that I frankly don't think many physicists are knowledgeable enough to have, if I do say so myself. but this is one of my favorite quotes: "I'm just looking to find out more about the world. I am not worried about being used btw, I can use as well as being used I frankly think that the constraints on how they fund things could very well preclude their ever funding great work... The closest they have come may be in evolutionary dynamics and cognition, but it could be that that work is wrong.. I am worried that they are so concerned about being out of the mainstream while at the same time being open minded that they simply might care too much about both in order to push things forward.. but we will see... contrariness is not as important as brilliance.

p.s. Lisa Randall must have heard about the shindig in Nov and is complaining that she is not invited.. should I invite her?

we plan to talk again.. he wants me to outline some proposals and send them to him.. There arc still some weird things about Templeton though that Bamaby hedged on.... The one thing we agreed upon is that it is good for science if Templeton funds science... I will say this, it was the first time I felt Bamaby was internally constraining himself to give me a line, and not say what he thought..

We also agreed however that one should not take what other people think as grounds for whether or not, or how, one should accept support.
