Dad,

When I got this today, it finally hit me. I am an NCAA athlete and a college baseball player. I've been playing baseball all my life and I've worked so hard for as long as I can remember. And you were there with me the whole time. Without you and all the help you have given me, I would not have been given this schedule and I would not be a member of the Catholic University baseball team. You are the first person I am sending this to because you are my number one fan. I hope you continue to support me and my new team. It means a lot to me when I'm on the field and I see you in the stands. Not many kids in the world have a dad that cares about them so much and will come and watch them do what they love. Here's the schedule. I know that you love to watch me play. Now you know when the games are. You can come and see me do my thing whenever you want. You taught me how to play baseball, and I will show you how well you taught me by playing the best I possibly can when I get my opportunity. I'm going to be the best player in the conference when I graduate. That's my goal. All the games I have played over the last 10 or so years have lead me here. I have accomplished what not many people thought I could do by becoming a college baseball player. But my goal isn't accomplished yet. Now I have a new stage to become a champion on. We were so close to winning a national championship this summer but we came up short. Now God has given me another chance to be the best in the U.S, and I plan on doing, with you there to watch me the whole way. Thank you for always being there to teach me, coach me, help me, and just watch me. I will always remember all the sacrifices you have made for me so that I can reach this point in my career, and any accolade or championship I earn in the NCAA level I owe to you. Your support means more to me than you know. It fuels me because I know that there is someone who cares about me so much. I want nothing more than for you to see me in red and black this spring. Thank you, you are my hero.

Love,

Marc

Jeffrey,

Please read the below e mail I received from my son last night. I can not thank you enough for the support that you have given me for the past 6 years with his education and with his baseball and allowing me the flexiabilty to be there for him to watch him play ball.
