Re: power
POWER- PROBABLY OF MOST INTEREST TO JEFF IS "KNOWLEDGE", "SOCIAL INFLUENCE" AND "FORMAL POWER/ABILITY TO SET THE RULES". (AS OPPOSED TO MILITARY POWER, FORCE, FIANANCIAL TO-HE POWER, WROTE ETC). A FAMOUS STEVEN BOOK LUKES ON AT POWER NYU MIGHT IN THE BE 70S. GOOD BUT, TO DO TALK YOU THINK THAT THIS IS TOO ACADEMIC???
F,
Do you want to do a symposium/gathering on power?
To work with you on this, I would want to do this in a way where we had easy communication.
I don't have much of an appetite for diving in to do a lot of work, then having the direction shift or getting more information that requires having to start over. If we could have easy communication — we could discuss and get clarity on what you want, what interests you, what type of people would be a fit, etc. and then, have good response time, feedback to pull it together, this could work well. Let me know if you think that works.
To start - let's frame it up by going over what it IS and what it IS NOT...

Power as it relates to knowledge, social influence and formal power and ability to set rules

I think power should be thought of as cross disciplines„ physics, money, intellectual , it is all the same„ it has an effect on the immediate environment, we should first define it. then have different fields discuss. lets see if ther are unseful metaphors.
Yay! Great stuff.
