Good Morning Boss,

To awnser your question, as to weather there are "Canary Island Date Palms" in Puerto Rico?

Yes! You actually have 7 tagged and ready to transport, from my last trip to the farm.
As I told you before, the Date palms at the Gramas Del Sur Farm in Ponce, Puerto Rico are Pheonix Carnariensis,

Exactly like the one planted on the wesem side of the island,in the bed of

bouganvilla.

The "canary island palms" are very closly related to the

Pheonix Dactylifera, which are the huge trees planted in the courtyard, and the

smaller ones by the 3 way fork in the road. It is actually hard

To tell them apart, unless they are planted side by side.

There are two main(commonly used) Date Palms; Canariensis-Native 1.Pheonix to the Canary Islands and Commonly known as "canary island Date palms" Dactylifera-This 2. Pheonix is the "True Date Palm" so called because it is cultivated for it's sweet fruit.

No.

The tallest on the Farm in Puerto Rico have only 5-7 fret trunk or wood height, Since they are still pretty young.
