Dan-en was flying a crop duster helicopter in Indiana and Iowa for the past three weeks, its dangerous and long fatiguing hours, he worked 19 days straight, and 16 hours a day for the $5,000 pay he was receiving.
He had an accident, while flying the Jet Ranger„ it was 5:15pm in the afternoon, after a 12 hour day, and finishing spaying a field of corn and was looking down at the spray mechanism, when he raised his head, he hit a power line, it broke off the tail boom, started to spin„ he held control, and with no airspeed, went straight down, he flared the main rotor system to cushion his fall, and obviously survived. here is a photo of the helicopter,. he had minor back injuries and a mild concussion.
