Re: (No subject)
im going to treasury to talk bitcoin, questions?
I'm more interested in planting some seeds of thought. Ecuador is working on a nationally approved cryptocurrency; looks like we have a pilot in the works with India to do a digital rupee to phase out graft & corruption.
Canada is also looking at doing a digital CDN dollar.
I'm more interested in what treasury thinks about doing a fed reserve backed digital USD / especially if they felt they could embed AML/KYC policy in the coin: it's one of the few legitimate approaches they have to change the adoption use cases of bitcoin: a digital USD would not suffer the volatility of bitcoin and could gain wider adoption and allow them to have a seat at the table as opposed to regulating bitcoin and driving innovation overseas and criminals underground.
Any insights on this would be great.
Ps: still thinking about coming to Malta after Moscow? @austinhill

Any update on plans to drop into Alta? Just attempting to plan the week: we may take a boat for some deep sea fishing so let me know if it's still in the cards.
