I appreciate what you guys are doing behind the scenes, BUT,

I am begging you not to second guess Michael's decisions to help me make the right decisions. If it weren't for his help, Linda and I would be much less focused on having the right game plan for me. He's been so generous with his time, and concern for me WHILE WORKING HIS ASS OFF SEEING PATIENTS WHO ALSO DEPEND ON HIM. He calls me 4-7 times daily to make sure we do everything right. I know you're probably asking how I could have possibly let this get so far.... Well, statistics show that 70% of patients with metastatic lung cancer have no indication until it's too late. I go in for annual physicals...EVERYTHING NORMAL. My internist saw something on a routine X Ray last week, that wasn't even seen on the ER X Ray 2 days later. The CT scans found more, the MRI's revealed the worst.

Please don't second guess Michael or even think about holding him remotely responsible for ANY outcome. It's my life (what's left of it), and I put my my full confidence, appreciation in Michael doing this for me. I know you guys mean well, but with all your connections, well-meaning suggestions, and help, neither of you are oncologists... Michael is.

Interestingly enough, my oncologist recommended Dr. Joan Schiller at UTSW before any other outside input was given, so we're in track.

I realize, that at this point, the only thing that will help me is a flat- out miracle.... So let's go for it!!

Terry, I appreciate your concern, friendship, and support for Linda, me, and Frog. We're getting started on a rough ride, and I'll do what I have to do Short of letting them turn me into a skin and bone zombie after all the mad scientist crap I'm about to experience.

Johnny: how should we go about getting in to see joan schiller. Who knows, maybe they have an experimental program. I know there is now an oral chemo available, etc. Let me know asap if I should push some buttons to get an appt.

Hey, we are in this deal together-all of us. Dr Jonathan dowell is also a heavyweight. We can try to see him, if Schiller doesn't pan out. Just let me know.

One last thing, costs: don't let that stop you from doing anything or seeing anyone. As I said, we all agreed, we are fighting this together and we are with you all the way. I speak for all of us. Hope your day goes well, call me to discuss getting in to see either doctor. I might be able to help.

Hey Jeff. Warren's attitude is good, but he calls himself "dead man walking". He's facing reality pretty well so far. I guess its just the luck of the draw.

Frog's been terrific.

It would be kind of nice if the four of us could somehow get together just to cut loose.

I was thinking, in my life, no one has made me laugh more than that little black Jewish kid from laurel ave with the business man's boots on. Hah!
