PGP Harvard Blood Collection

Saturday, September 20! Blood collection event in Boston MA.

Dear Jeffrey Epstein,

We are emailing to let you know about a blood collection event the Harvard Personal Genome Project will be holding in Boston, MA on Saturday September 20, 10am-4pm.

We've collected blood in Boston before at the GET Conference and Labs, but attending the event isn't always possible, even for local residents. We also held a successful Saturday collection event in June but some participants were unable to attend. Therefore, we're planning another Saturday blood collection event at Harvard Medical School.

Blood is the best sample for genome sequencing. If you attend this collection event we can't guarantee your sample will produce a genome sequence, but all blood samples collected at previous events have been sent to Complete Genomics for DNA purification and genome sequencing.

Note: This is for folks who don't already have a genome sequence or a sample in the sequencing pipeline — no need to attend if you gave blood at GET 2013, GET 2014, or at our June 21 event. Still, you might forward this email or pass on information about this event to current or aspiring PGP participants who might like to participate!

PGP Harvard participants who have completed the PGP Participant Survey and all twelve trait surveys are invited to apply to donate blood.

How to sign-up to donate blood on Saturday September 20 in Boston:

  1. Log in to your account: https://my.pgp-hms.org/
  2. Go to the Participant Surveys page and complete all surveys.
  3. To apply, visit the collection event page and record yourself as "Interested".

Eligible participants who apply will be notified by the Harvard Personal Genome Project staff within 2 business days and we will provide instructions about how to make an appointment.

Many thanks,

Preston Estep, PGP Director of Collections
