Here's a more accurate way to look at i=: there are certain jobs that are so inherently polarizing that regar=less of how well you do them, half the people will think you are an incompe=ent, partisan hack. Ken Starr was universally respected as a capable,=smart, high-integrity lawyer before he became independent counsel.
