Jeffrey,
Jeffrey,
is really interested in the U of M. She submitted her application for early action about two weeks ago. As Michigan is her first choice she did not apply for early decision to any other university as this would bind her if she was accepted. Michigan has rolling admissions so they can let you know right away.
She has been through a liberal arts "college program" at Bard High School and would like to go to a larger school with math and engineering options. She has also has taken the highest level Spanish offered and is also doing well in the humanities. Massachusetts Minnesota and Michigan are three main areas where ice hockey for girls is prevalent. Out of these choices U of Michigan offers a competitive club program and a good education. I do not think division 1 or 3 hockey would be a good decision as it is a full time commitment that I would not recommend for her if she could go to Michigan.
She would prefer this more than the smaller liberal arts schools in the north-east.
Her final SAT scores are math 710 and reading 630 for a total of 1950. I would appreciate if there is anything else you can do to help with Michigan.
Thanks
