This is interesting to watch not because it's particularly insightful about the future of bitcoin but because it's a good way to understand the community.

A couple of points:

  1. It's a libertarian fest..

  2. They are fairly unclear about what the value of bitcoin is. They first say it's the protocol to perform transactions (it's the 'internet' of currencies), then it's the hashing power (so essentially this means the 'social network'), and then the price cutting on the normal financial transactions

  3. They keep saying that bitcoin will replace CC and exchanges for financial products, I don't think they understand that bitcoin at the moment doesn't actually solve any of the problems these institutions are actually paid for

  4. They got in this mindset that the only way to go about 'innovation' is to build on top of bitcoin, and some of the stuff they mention is overly complicated for no other reason than the fact that it's built on top of bitcoin..

  5. They keep advocating for derivatives and such on top of bitcoin for price stabilization, if those ever exist and the market depth is big enough I think that will lead to a collapse of it if anything.

So my summary is: http://cdn4.miragestudio7.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/ancient-aliens-gu.jpg - sorry for the snark I've been watching videos of these people the whole day..

On a serious note, I'm not sure whether this is good or bad but I don't think they know what they are doing (not from a technical POV, but from a 'larger scheme of things' one)
