Re: Public Records Request
Attached is a formal request for public records. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you for your assistance. Sincerely, Peter Aldhous, PhD Science reporter | BuzzFeed News
My apology for attaching the incorrect email to my prior message. This thread has the correct public record request. As to your recent question, you will see that BuzzFeed is also asking about your individual funding. I have information from OKED. If you have additional information, can you please provide it to our office — in addition to the funding information for The Origins Project. Thank you.
ask to see anything she decides to send. . BEFORE it goes out . we might consider having you call the reporter directly . off the record of course. call me
please send me a copy of the ANU investigation conclusion
i understand, however, this needs =oney not vinegar. an agressive tone will be =ounterproductive. . it is disheartening to see = complaints filed against me from people that say they =itnessed from a distance me behaving in what they =erm improperly with someone they dont even know, . It could =ave been my wife. and i would still have to defend myself from =negations of affection.
go slow
So you can see what I am up against.. If/when Buzzfeed does something about this case that has been discredited by now 2 universities (with clear misstatements in the claim that were later shown to be false), you suggest I simply do nothing? If not, please advise. Also, whether I should be proactive at all in terms of threat of legal action etc... Thanks for your help.
I am getting on a plane in a bit.. but probably have time for a quick call.. I have emailed her several times and she has not responded.. and called her twice as well.. LMK
Exactly what =ancy said. So should I speak to the reporter?
ok.. so, should I contact the reporter or not? =his is a big step.. do you want to consult any of your friends, =r should I just call him? btw.. university attorney said she is =ending me a copy of what she will send later today..
need guidance.. lets talk tomorrow?
I think the reporter should have the ANU =oc . with a cover letter. . if ASU legal will =end it that would be the best. =owever , there is s chavnce that the reporter will quote and take =ut of context. . My concern is that if you speak even off the =ecord to the reporter that it will raise the bar. . 1 =ou can get out in front and have someone else publish the letter. = there are no perfect answers. . =ou sound so wounded that unless you can truly keep it under control = a phone conversation with the reporter might throw more oil on =he non fire. :)/ do you have a lawyer or publiscist. =r someone at the universtiy that could have the off the record?
i can speak after 12 eastern. . it would be nice =or him to see the anu report. do we know if he contacted =hem?
Thanks. Am pretty sure asu legal will not send anything. =heir position is that legally they don't have to and this would =ndercut that.
I had thought of calling him and appearing surprised by the =equest and asking what sexual misconduct was referenced as there is =othing at uni and then if he referenced this to sort of laugh and say, =h that was dismissed because it was clearly just a third party trying =o make trouble but it was shown to never have happened etc. =nbsp;
Then I =hought maybe best to not do anything because if they don't have =ccess to the info and they are interested in a story of how Ino =esponds to this stuff they might not have a story.
no.. =on't know.. am leaning at this point toward not =ontacting at all.. am in meetings in am.. will call later =oday?
