Despite the Indian Summer here in NYC, Fall is in full-swing and we're glad to share with you a quick recap on what has been a busy summer. Kathryn Hume joined ffVC as Venture Partner, Plated was acquired by Albertsons to become the first omnichannel meal kit company with national scale, and the second cohort of the Al NexusLab officially kicked off to name just a few highlights. On September 20, Plated was acquired by Albertsons, becoming the first omnichannel meal kit company with national scale. Under the deal, Plated will have access to hundreds of millions of new customers, expanded operational and financial resources, and invaluable industry expertise from Albertsons, along with the opportunity to provide more choice and high quality ingredients to existing shoppers and beyond.
Since our initial investment in 2013, we've seen how hard the entire Plated team has worked to reach this milestone, and can't wait to see how the company's new chapter with Albertsons unfolds.
