As you know, this week the IIE-SRF Iraq Project is holding its 11th training conference- the 5th in Iraq.
Allan is with the team and provided a keynote today, and he had an interview with the press.
The IIE-SRF Iraq team (Nada, Celeste, Janet, Jessica, and Celine) have done yet another astounding job organizing this major event. Other IIE Divisions are involved as well.
Nada provided this update:
- Conference opened by U.S. Consul General in Erbil, Paul Sutphin.
- Opening remarks also given by KRG-MOHE Minister Dr. Ali Saeed.
- Emphasis on promoting educational exchanges and mutual understanding between American and Iraqi people.
- Attendance: >160 Iraqi scholars and university reps (including 100 SRF scholars and 62 university reps from Iraq proper and the KRG).
- SRF scholars traveled from 12 countries and multiple Iraqi cities.
- 32 Iraqi universities participating. Listed attendees by region:
