Update - July 14, 2015
Happy Tuesday Sir,
I am in Michigan following up on the test results from my last pelvic exam. In summary, my STT doctor found some atypical cells in my cervix. As a precaution she advised that a cone biopsy be done for further testing. The procedure is somewhat risky, so my doctor advised that it should be performed by a specialist - a gynecologic oncologist. There are none on St. Thomas unfortunately, so I contacted my sister who is a surgeon at Henry Ford, and she referred me to one of her colleagues.
I had my consultation yesterday, which went very well. Dr. Rasool is waiting for the pathologist to review and confirm that my slides and their slides show the same results and that the cone biopsy is the next logical step.
So, everyone says the outpatient surgery should be next week, and depending on what they discover, and both doctors advise, I hope to be home very shortly after that.
Hope the details were not too gruesome :)
Respectfully, Daphne
