Fwd: ZDC- Damage to RC High Voltage Line
Rich
As discussed this morning
Y=sterday afternoon, Steve was trenching the new line from the Irrigation vau=t RC to Well 4, when he accidentally caught a high voltage feed to the Qwes= Microwave Tower.
This took out power to both the Quest Tower and=RC
Fortunately he just broke the conduit and pulled the Cable (pi= 3 & 4) from the pole (Pic 2) and the Junction box
(Pic 1) located at t=e office
Carlos was spotting for him, but did not see the Cable i= time to stop Steve from lifting it with the backhoe. Please note=this line is not indicated on any As Built Plan for RC It was bur=ed approx 3 Feet in the ground, as apposed to the required 4ft Th=rs was no warning tape buried above the line to indicate buried electrical l=ne.
CNME was informed and came on sight to repair,=they had no record of this cable in there data base. They pulled the cable b=ck to both auction box and pole, replaced auction box terminals, replace tr=nsformer fuse on pole. Power was established at both location at 11.2= pm
This work took 5 1/2 hours to perform.
CNME will need to return to repair conduit, they intend to be back on sig=t tomorrow morning.
There will be charges for this=work, we will try and clarify these tomorrow.
