Hey do you have contact info for Sotheby's or Christies? I have a bunch of things for auction at 71st and I've never done it before. I think JE has/had an account with each place, but not sure of the procedure, if I should email someone with photos first of the items, etc..

The best way to start is to send pictures of the items you want to sell. From there, they will pass the items on to the various appraisal departments to get estimated auction prices and to say if they want to sell it or not.
