Thanks for this request. We aim to make the best keyed stretcher frames available for a reasonable price and keep the quality consistent year after year.
We can certainly help you with your large stretcher frame requirements. We have developed a number of special designs for large format stretchers. To prevent the stretchers from twisting under tension and creating that "rhombus effect", it's important that the bars be strong and the corner joints and braces be designed to withstand the stresses of a tightly stretched canvas. For strength and straightness we use laminated and finger-jointed pine lumber to build our stretcher bars. The HD bars we make all have double tongue and groove, friction fitted joints at the corners (see photos on our website). This ensures that the corner joints are strong yet still expandable through the use of our hardwood key system.
Flush bolted sectional designs for ease of shipping and assembly The only practical way to ship a large stretcher with any dimension over 8 feet is to make the long bars and braces in shorter sections that are bolted together. We use flush mounted hex-head connector bolts for fastening all splice joints (where short bar or brace lengths overlap) and dado joints (where braces intersect).
Fully Keyed Bars and Braces
Since large canvases are more prone to sagging over time, it is especially important to have the canvas supported by a stretcher frame which can be "keyed-out" to maintain the required tension. All of our large stretcher frames are made with keyable corner and brace joints.

Note that I have quoted you two options. For the size you are requesting I would normally recommend OPTION 2 which is a heavier and stronger frame. If you are stretching a light canvas or fabric then OPTION 1 would work fine. Please call me if you would like to discuss this further.

Shipping Estimate: $210 via UPS Ground (regular charge would be around $420 but you get 50% off shipping for your first order)
Shipping and Handling: For orders over 60" in length we offer 50% off shipping for first orders. Shipping costs normally add about 10% to 20% to the cost of an order. In all shipments, we include the hardware, keys and instructions for assembly in the packages.
PLEASE NOTE: There are NO DUTY, NO BROKERAGE CHARGES and NO TAXES for orders shipped to our US customers.

Delivery
All custom orders are normally shipped within 5 to 10 business days. For small orders, we offer 2-day RUSH SERVICE for an additional fee of 25%. Stock orders are usually shipped within 2 days.

Canvas & Stretching Tools
We can ship you a premium grade of #12 or #10 heavy cotton duck canvas, cut to the size needed for your stretcher frames. We also stock quality stretcher pliers, staplers and non-marring mallets to help you assemble and stretch your frames professionally!
