Re: 70th Birthday Dinner in Southampton
Dear Jeffrey,
As you know, I am in the South of France finishing up the last leg of my three week trip to London, Capri, Coronis and St. Maxime. Have had an amazing time.
Will be home on Friday, July 14th. Going straight to Southampton for the final planning of my 70th birthday party. The party will be at Avie and Gigi Mortimer's in Southampton on Saturday, July 15th.
What was originally to be a dinner for 30 I play tennis with, has grown into a mini event for 70 friends.
Dear Jeffrey,
My third and final birthday soiree, hosted by Adam & Amalie Lindemann at their Andy Warhol compound in Montauk, was ahuge success for 70 artists and lefties.
People like Bruce Weber, Dick Cavett, Julian Schnabel, Blythe Danner, and actress Cherry Jones showed up.
The lesbians were Dorothy Berwin and Dominique Levy and the token Republicans were Emilia and Pepe Fanjul who brought their yacht from Sag Harbor.
Rob Weisenthal came and provided a helicopter from Southampton at cost for Avi and Gigi Mortimer.
Lunch was in a tent, overlooking the ocean. Adam made a funny speech. I, of course, made a heartfelt speech about beauty and anti•aging.
I am sending by email my booklet. I will mail you some copies on Monday. It has a bright pink cover with a photo of me and a big bow. Tell me where to send them, you can give them out to all of your friends. I'll send you as many copies as you want. Please read it, even you can learn something, and it will make you laugh.
I just bought an amazing brown and beige leopard rug that is wall to wall carpeting for my whole apartment and being made in France. I probably won't have it for 4 months, but Stark is putting in a temporary floor covering until it comes. The total price is $39,123. Stark wants a 50% deposit, which is $19,561.50. Do you want to pay Stark directly or do you want to send me the deposit? Either way is fine.
When the apartment gets done, you're my first visitor.
I'm going to Nantucket on Pepe's boat this weekend. I'll be back on Monday. Hope you're well. Please tell me what you think of the new birthday booklet.
xoxo,
Peggy
