I love Waveny and I love that pool. I was there every single day this July as my daughter also made the Wavcny Gator swim team.
Needless to say, I am happy to help.
I will also try to recruit some folks.

Upgrades that were made prior to this past season include 2 new large umbrella's behind the diving board, painted locker rooms, new lawn by kiddie pool, purchased ping pong & foosball tables, among other small improvements.
Prior to next season an entirely new liner is scheduled to be installed.
The Waveny Pool was setup to be entirely self-funded and sustainable through membership fees. It is managed by Steve Benko and the Recreation department and overseen by the Park & Rec. commission. I am the only member of the commission that is a member of the pool.
3 years ago we established a pool task force to tackle some of the issues we had. A lot of good ideas and energy came out of that task force. In that spirit I think it is a good idea to setup a group of pool members to take a more active role in the planning and experience at the pool. It would be great to continue to upgrade the experience at the pool.
Some ideas that have been discussed.
Lounge chairs
Additional table games or play structures
Lights to allow pool to stay open until 10 PM
Family or adult evening gatherings. Catered, music?? Fundraiser?

Heater
Additional landscaping
Please let me know if you have any interest in becoming more involved or if you know someone else I should have included. I imagine it would require 1 day per month in the off season and some planning & coordination during the season.
