Richard Branson - Strive Challenge
Dear Jeffrey,
I hope this finds you well.
For the month of September, I’ll be joining my kids Holly and Sam as a member of the core team of the Virgin Strive Challenge in which a 25 of us will be travelling from the base of the Matterhorn to the summit of Mt Etna in Sicily, entirely under human power. The trip is broken into 5 legs and I would absolutely love it if you could join me for a leg or two.
Here’s the agenda to whet your appetite:
- Hike (1-8 September): Stunning 5 day hike over mountain cols and alpine Valley. Staying in mountain refuges along the way.
- Cycle 1 (8-14 September): Cycling at its very best as we cruise through all of Tuscany and then hit the Liguria coast at the line C.
- Cycle 2 (14-20 September): Cycle around Rome and then spend a night on the Amalfi coast at the end.
- Cycle 3 (20-26 September): The stage for the more experienced cyclist with some serious climbs in the mix.
- Triathlon (26-30 September): 3.5 km swim to Sicily, 110 km mountain bike along a stunning ridge line and a half marathon to the summit of Etna. A fitting finale to an amazing month.
We are bringing a remarkable group of people together to challenge themselves and raise money for Big Change. Big Change is the charity Holly and Sam founded in 2012 to shake up the way we are educating the next generation to thrive in life, not just in exams. It's a wonderful charity with big ambitions and one I'm very proud to be supporting.
There are 2 things I would love:
- That you join me for a leg or two. I can promise you will be blown away by the company and the energy and the route is simply stunning.
Please go to strivechallenge.com to find more info on the different stages and details on how to sign up. If you have any questions, please get in touch with my nephew Noah.
Please move as quickly as you can 2. If you can't take part for whatever reason I would love you could make a donation to recognise me in Holly and Sam's efforts instead (which, of course, I'll match, doubling your impact at the touch of a button!!). The cause is an incredibly important one and (I'm told) the more I raise, the easier it will be as I am going to find and drag again my 65 year old body through the challenge!

Cheers and all the best to you
