Mr. Epstein,
Here are the dates horses were in the stables. I have checked with the Mano and Steve and we can't think of any more dates or times.
caning filly - lacerated front foot in pasture 2nd week of August. Pasture doctored.
- took to vet on Aug 30 to be treated. Injured self in trailer on trip. Stitches required. Hole in top of head.
- kept in stables for 10 days until stitches were removed.
colt colt
- skin infection mid July on antibiotics and bathed daily for 1 week. kept in stables
- skin infection end of Aug. antibiotics and bathed daily for 1 week. kept in stables
Thor-Ranch horse
- snake bite Aug 24. Home from vet hospital and in stables for 2 weeks on liquid diet
Mano's horse
- Snake bite Aug 15. Being doctored in stables with breathing tubes.
- suffered near death choke incident and went to vet hospital
- Home from vet hospital on Aug 30 and spent 3-4 weeks on liquid diet in stables
January 2012
- 3 horses in stables lly and Mano's horse. Mano's horse had a laceration and was being doctored 4 days. filly lame from fall on ice down in corral below. 4 days in stables.
- 20 year old pregnant mare was in the paddock area but being fed in a stall as the snow and ice was hard on her.
I have never kept horses in the stables other than if they were sick or injured. It is not good for the horse and its overall well-being. They are herd animals and prefer to be outside in the pastures. They are blanketed if a bad storm is coming and have shelter outside.
- I have always used the stables to bathe and wash the horses down in the spring and summer. I washed all horses in the stables last summer. I treat all the horses the same - mine or the ranches. They have always been my responsibility and passion.
I have also always kept the stables immaculate as well. It is unfortunate that we had a visit and the stables were being used to doctor horses.
