We found the conversation in Strasbourg invaluable and definitely plan to formalize an engagement for IPI to provide strategic counsel and support to the Gates Foundation's polio eradication strategy. We should make sure we work together to define the parameters of the engagement including fees and expenses as quickly as possible. We understand that this will include expenses associated with travel into our key areas of focus in preparation for any reports and/or briefings prepared by WI for the Gates Foundation.

• Thank you for our discussion last night on the telephone, as well as your email below. We understand the need to work on a framework agreement covering the parameters of our engagement. In order to get this process moving, please let me know the steps and timelines required from our side. In the meantime, because of the urgency of the situation, we are operating under the assumption that we should go ahead with the deployment of our staff member to Pakistan on 26 April, and that the costs of this mission will be covered by you.
