I understood that Jumbo, my point was strictly heart related „ why only inhibition.? , what causes it to act„ is it a safety valve? , I would like to break it down by component.
it doesn't only inhibit heart rate. peristalsis, digestion, mood, etc. depends on the end organ. the neurotransmitters are somehow involved in delivering the message to the end organs.
i think you need to look closely at the pathology related to vagus (and prove it is vagally mediated). so for example crohn's disease = rheumatoid arthritis = hypertension = atrial fibrillation (just at various stages of development).

the traditional thinking is that the autonomic nervous system is a balance between parasympathetic (vagus) and sympathetic. i think that is kind of right and the rationale for my imperfect telemetry analysis.
the feedback comes from neurotransmitters or other stimuli which is why things break when you screw around with neurotransmitters (they do more than one thing and conentration matters)
the other part that no one talks about is the actual electricity. does the transmission voltage change? why do things have to be chemically gates? what about electrical gating in the primest sense?
