A THANK YOU MESSAGE FROM DELEGATE STACEY PLASKETT
My Friends and Fellow Virgin Islanders:
On behalf of myself, my family, my dedicated staff both in Washington and here at home, and my tireless campaign team of volunteers, I want to say Thank You to all of the people of the Virgin Islands for the opportunity to return to the US House of Representatives and continue to serve as your Congresswoman.
It is a tremendous honor to be your Delegate, your advocate, and a hard-working fighter for you in the Halls of Congress. When I was first elected, we promised to develop an office for the people that would be diligent and thoughtful, while always keeping the people at home as our focus. I believe that we have fulfilled that promise and the results of my re-election showed your confidence in our work, and for that I am truly grateful.
Representing the people of the United States Virgin Islands is a great honor - to speak for our seniors, fight for our veterans, create a level playing field for our businesses and dream for our children is always in our minds. We are excited to build on what we have begun and we are determined to continue to grow a better Virgin Islands for us all.

Today, I also want to take a moment to offer a special thank you to our nation's Veterans. Each year, we gather as a nation to honor the service of our veterans and to remember the contributions that our men and women in uniform have fought for to secure the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
Virgin Island Veterans carry a legacy of service to this nation that is unrivaled. That is evidenced by their history of service in protecting this nation even before they were officially a part of it. And also by the sacrifices of our brave Purple Heart veterans and their families.
It is incumbent upon us all to honor the service and sacrifices of our heroes, not just today but every day, and not just with accommodations and medals, but by also making good on the promises we've made to them and their loved ones when they return from service.
I encourage every Virgin Islander to show their support for our Purple Heart veterans by wearing purple today on this Veterans Day and by also stopping to offer thanks to our Veterans for their service.
