Bruce responded to our proposal that he take in two

the one-month period he requested off from August 30

Bruce told me that it was part of his deal when he
joined LSJ that he be
allowed to take that one-month period off every
year. It is necessary for
Bruce's and his wife's sanity, Bruce said. Bruce
initially told me that he would
give up the time off he requested from July 27 to
August 13 2006 and take that
time off in 2007. However, Bruce called me back
within a few minutes and
asked if he could take at least some of that July 27
to August 13 time (even
without pay if necessary) to deal with some domestic
chores he must handle.Bruce said that he loves his job and everyone knows
he is a team player, but
that his job should not greatly affect his life? I
interpreted this to mean
that as long as it does not inconvenience Bruce's
personal life greatly,
then Bruce will go with the flow. If the
inconvenience is great, however, the
implication was that Bruce could consider leaving
his job.Knowing how fond you are of Bruce, I would suggest
that we give him the
August 30-September 30 time off and 10 days (with
pay) from July 27 through
August 6 . This would leave Bruce with approximately
1 week of OT Days off to be
taken in 2007.Please advise if this is acceptable to you.
