Arran,

 

At a meeting with Mr. Epstein it was asked if there could be an intermediate fix to the present deficiency in the electrical switching and power distribution system short of the proposed new WAPA transformer and new power distribution service as envisioned in the proposed Utility Building scope of work.

 

I would like to work with you to study possibilities and make recommendations to Mr. Epstein. 

 

Can we with the present WAPA transformer replace the existing 600 Amp switch mounted  to it with a larger switch?

 

Is the present wiring from the existing WAPA transformer mounted 600 Amp switch sized to take greater then 600 Amps or need it be replaced.

 

Is the 600 Amp switch located in the generator room part of the outgoing power from the generators or is it part of the incoming WAPA service and if so can it be replaced with a larger switch.

 

Assuming;

• The switch/switch's can be replaced with larger Amp switch's,
• The existing incoming WAPA transformer allows for a higher Amp mounted switch,
• The wiring transformer to switch, to distribution is sufficient-

 

• Will the existing distribution panels allow for distribution of the existing loads plus the addition of the Office Structure now in construction?
• The proposed switch to the transformer for the Office building is rated at 3 phase 480 Volt 120 Amps

Please review and call me to discuss feasibility and economics of a temporary fix.
