Subject: New Year's greetings

Dear Friends,

Though I had intended to send best wishes for the New Year during the last week of December, I was laid low by a virus of some sort during the final week of the old year, though I am feeling a lot better this afternoon, at last.

I write to thank you all for your help and support in what seems to me the very important work of Mark Tramo and his colleagues at the Institute for Music and Brian Science at Harvard-MGH.  A professional musician and music teacher for the past half century (and the son and grandson of professional musicians), I have for many years thought  that a better understanding of how the human brain facilitates and reacts to music would be of huge benefit both to humanity and to the future of music's influence on human kind.  Thus, I remain very enthusiastic about the long term prospects of the Institute's work, and am deeply grateful to you all for your continuing friendship and support of that good work.

Please never hesitate to call upon me if there are prospects which you believe Mark and I should attend to, in the near or middle term.  Both of us are ever eager to hear from you, by telephone or email, as suites your convenience.

Warm best wishes for a healthy and productive 2008,

Sincerely,

Bob
