I just got back from the closing to find a fax from John Amerling of a
letter John says that he received by certified mail today, even though the
letter is dated January 15. I had Rhanna e-mail a copy of the letter to
you.
Although the letter seems to state that all of the modifications that we
have filed for over the past couple of years are having an adverse impact on the
Island, the letter also seems to state that the result of this adverse impact is
that the November 2007 application for permit modification must be submitted and
reviewed as a major permit. The letter does not seem to address any of the
permits and modifications that have already been granted.
According to John, the November 2007 application is for a modification of
the existing compound permit granted on Janary 27, 2007. The modification
decreases the footprint of the permitted work on the compound, yet it is
now going to requre a major permit.
John has no explanation regarding the actual date of the letter being
January 15.
