To Jeffrey Epstein
From Howard GardnerHi, Jeffrey. Glad we had a chance to visit a few
weeks ago. Since then I
went to visit three cities in Italy. I was at a
meeting with Mort
Zuckerman, in the Vatican of all places. Though
we'd met before, this was
the first time I had the chance to hear him talk
about the media at length
(he gave a paper) and also to talk with him about
what is happening to
journalism. I thoroughly enjoyed and learned from
our conversation and I'm
glad that you encouraged me to approach him.
Interestingly, we did not
gossip about Cambridge-probably, just as well. Nor
did we decide to launch
a new magazine!Saw on the Edge website that your computer Prize was
awarded. I trust that
you were pleased with the choice.I've a busy few months ahead of me-minor surgery, a
trip to Latin America,
and the birth of my first grandchild. Hope that all
is well and that I'll
see you soon.Have a good thanksgiving.

sorry I missed you.... I met with Richard Branson, who
is working on creating what he terms an elder
statesman council of the world... and asked who I
thought might be appropriate... I told him i have no
idea but he should contact you and inquire , about
your work on trustees.

Hi Jeffrey, and happy new year. As you may have
heard, the Harvard
contingent was well represented at the Renaissance
Weekend-Alan D., Steve K,
and I spent some quality time together-hardly ever
possible in Cambridge!.
The Clintons were there as well, doing their thing.
I learned about an
interesting new book THE UNTIED STATES OF AMERICA,
by Juan Enriques. I
ordered the book and will let you know if it lives
up to its expectations. The big news in the Gardner household is that we are
now grandparents for
real. Oscar Bernard Gardner was born on 23
December: all are well and all
is well.I've been in New York with some regularity but
missed you the last few
trips. Hope that when you are next in Cambridge,
with a little free time, we
can get together. By the time you read this, I will
be heading to Latin
America-Chile and Peru-with my son Andrew. With all good wishes.

From Howard GardnerHi, Jeffrey. Hope you are well. I will be in New
York on February 19 and
20th. If you have any free time on those dates, it
would be good to see
you. I'll follow up with Lesley to see what, if
anything, is possible.Howard Gardner
