noteworthy is how many people he can excite.. the
work on c. elegans, is much more exciting, but lacks

I am very familiar with Aubrey's work. One of my
current postdocs (Pedro
de
Magahaes) and one of my former students and ex-CEO
of Longenity Inc (Pete
Estep) have worked in that field for a decade each
and I have followed it
longer but less intensely. I have attached a
critique by experts in the
field. Most feel that he is highly active at
getting attention (both good
and bad PR) yet not 'visionary' in any productive
way. He has no
experimental background in a field where deep
biological knowledge almost
certainly matters. But this does raise the
important point that as our
project coalesces, we want to steer clear that sort
of vaguery or hype. If
an intelligent lay overview is desired check the
latest Scientific American
article by two local experts (David Sinclair and
Lenny Guarante). I'd be
happy to update the last RSS draft to incorporate
parts of Wed night's
conversation.
