Hi,

I just got back from Davos and spent a day in Lausanne at EPFL with Henry
Markram, Director of the Blue Brain Project (cover of the latest Seed). We
were pitching PLA.NET to Henry and it looks like that is going to go ahead.
Separately, we discussed Henry's fundraising activities for the project. In
a nutshell, this is the next Human Genome Project -- a massive, global
undertaking to build a brain using supercomputers. IBM is heavily invested
in the project. Henry is meeting with potential donors around the world. He
is coming to New York on Feb 18 and I am thinking about putting together a
dinner. Are you around? Would you be interested in meeting him and getting
some people together?
