Subject: Some important news about SOL Inc I am pleased to share with
you
Dear Jeffrey:
I am excited to share with you the attached press release from Sol Inc.,
the leading manufacturer of commercial and industrial outdoor solar
powered lighting systems, which I am proud to Chair. The press release
I am enclosing is about a recent installation of solar powered lighting
systems in 11 villages in Peru that were devastated by last summer's
earthquake.
I wanted to share the announcement with you for a number of reasons
beyond the obvious personal pride for Sol's ability to help bring light
and hope to these devastated areas.
The announcement displays our new look and tag line:
"Reliable Renewable Remarkable"
which reflects our commitment to quality, the environment, and the
communities we serve.
In the last year, Sol's growth as the leading manufacturer of solar
powered outdoor lighting systems has accelerated and we expect to
deliver over 7,000 systems around the world during 2008 with
significantly greater deliveries expected in 2009. We recently
activated a global supply chain to ensure we remain competitive with
competitors around the globe.
Our new solar powered LED lights are super bright and efficient. Our new
street light is currently being tested to evaluate the energy savings
for replacing the luminaire in retrofit projects across the country.
Sol is the largest outdoor solar lighting supplier to U.S. Military
bases around the world and we already have solar powered lighting
systems installed in over 50 countries on six continents. In Africa, the
capital city of Conakrie in Guinea is rapidly becoming the first
national capital on the planet to have a majority of its streets lit by
solar powered streetlights - all Sol products, to date.
In Boston, we provide solar powered advertising panels for local bus
shelters, and our latest solar powered roadside billboard system is
being installed in California.
I look forward to sharing more announcements of installations that can
help change the world by reducing our dependence on fossil fuels while
helping to save the environment - one solar light at a time.
In the meantime, if you have ideas that can help us improve our products
or better serve our customers, please feel free to call or write.
Look forward to hearing from you.
All my very best.
Michael
