At yesterdays meeting you properly questioned the amount of reduction in cost to the proposed Electric Budget as to;

 

1-Attributed to reduction in bid by Glidden

• Glidden’s original bid dated 5/13/08 was in the amount of $1,080,000.00
• Glidden’s revised bid dated 6/12/08 for a similar scope of work is $841,038.00
• Reduction in budget for a similar scope of work as a result of revised reduced bid appears to be $238,907.00

2-The reduction in budget for Utility building attributable to transferring from the original Glidden scope to a site distribution budget, power distribution from the building, 

• Utility building switchboard to Kitchen panel=                             $158,760.00
• Utility building switchboard to Engineering “MDF”=  $50,582.00
• Utility building switchboard to Transfer switch 3 =       $34,904.00
• Transferred from Utility Building budget to a  site power distribution budget is the amount of  $244,246  

 Additionally we had quoted from Glidden;

• Providing power from the proposed Utility Building switchboard to the Wood shop manhole- Bid amount $13,743.00
• Providing power from the Kitchen panel to the New Office Structure $42,932.00 

The above costs by Glidden are exclusive of excavation, backfill, concrete work, concrete patching.

 

I am expecting a revised bid from R&A and will forward it to you upon receipt.

Upon review of their bid last week it appeared they had included the entire Utility Building lighting and outlets columns 1-14 and had asked for time to review with their estimator and correct as necessary.
