(no subject)

Since my job pays so crappy I've decided only to wear cheap clothes to work. For those of you who know me, knows my Italian closet... so I had to dig deep... I will only wear my 15 year old, black suit from some cheap Italian brand called .... Benetton.

 

Unfortunately, I only have PINK shirts, which are far too expensive to wear for such low-paid job, but what can a girl do? I make too little to buy a AED 20 shirt at H&M which would've been the appropriate price-range for my salary.

 

MAC sponsored this event so I, along with K and M, had been assigned to stand at the booth. It was not much to do so I got to know colleagues pretty well:

 

The kids here may be Muslim and close to their families and what not, but they lie like no Western kids would ever have the energy to do!

 

K is a member of the Sharjah royal family. He tells his mother that he goes away on business every weekend. Every weekend he goes to Maritius, Maldives, Europe or Las Vegas on his cousin's private jet, partying like a rockstar.

 

K has 73 speeding tickets and will have to go to jail for a week or two. He will send his driver in his place.

 

Wears Rolex he inherited from his father. It's valued at +$600,000.

 

M tells his mother he's at a spa in Abu Dhabi when he's actually partying his head off in London.

 

More food. 

Got to know new employee, a French girl, small as a Chihuaha. She hates Dubai. Had as many bad experiences as I have.  

 

My Thai colleague got terrible pains. The doctors are telling her nothing is wrong with her, BUT they can prescribe really strong painkillers.

She might have to go back to Thailand to be checked out there.

 

After my gynecology visit I bled like a pig. I haven't had that much pain for over ten years. Muslim gyn did something really wrong when she examined me.

 

 

People don't have as glamorous lives in Dubai as one would think. Nor do they have good friends. Thurs afternoon everyone and their mother at work asked me what I was doing this weekend because nobody had plans. Granted, all the "people" asking were guys and they all ended up bailing on me anyway because they got too drunk too early or some French hooker called them (this is an entirely different report...).

 

I take back that all guys are assholes in Dubai. We have some really great ones in our office. I will of course never date any of the nice guys in Dubai because I'm addicted to commitment-phobic, cheap assholes preferably from really bad families. 

 

Went to a great asw party where you had to dress according to 70's, 80's etc. Dubai can be fun! Partying is better here than anywhere else in the world. People are not afraid to get down and dirty here. In New York it's like: "Oh, don't get my Prada-dress dirty!"
