There will be newspaper coverage of the hearing and a talking piece summarizing the problems with the Application has been circulated to the papers. McComb has forwarded his report to EAST(Environmental Association of St. Thomas/St. John), but other than this e-mail, I have not received any information that EAST is going to make any statement at the hearing. McComb is going to attend the hearing (he has not decided whether his attendance is or is not on your behalf but that would not be a matter of public record unless he actually spoke out at the hearing). Bill will not speak out at the hearing on your behalf without receiving express direction to do so from me. Bill recommends making no statement, seeing if anyone else does, and if noone else does or noone does so effectively, writing within 7 days after the hearing a less public objection letter which he would send to DPNR and all of the committee members. If this letter did not motivate CZM it would at least preserve standing for you if it should ever become necessary to appeal.

Hi Everyone,

Over the past week, Dalma and I have been trying to resolve some issues relative to the CZM Division not forwarding any CZM application/ EARs to EAST. I have checked the mail regularly, but haven't received any notice in the mail. On several occasions, Dalma has indicated to CZM that all EARs should be delivered to his office in WAPA. Anyway, today Dalma went to DPNR and physically collected the EAR for Great St. James. EAST former Treasurer, Bill McComb, has reviewed the EAR and supplied us with the attached comments on the St. James Development. I really would like a group of individuals to take a look at both Bill's comments and the EAR. I know it's rather late, but I would like Jason, Greg, Geoff and Dayle to take a look at the EAR. Let me know what your thoughts are. We could take the position of attending the meeting and putting in record that although we are on the mailing list that we did not receive the EAR in sufficient time to do a proper and thorough review and will forward our comments in writing in the coming week. Please let me know your thoughts. Again, thank you for your time, talents and support.
