Hi Jeffrey - I know it's been a long time since
you've heard from me. We've
had a very busy summer on our project and we are
just finishing up intaking
134 serious applicants to the project. After careful
evaluation of most of
the applicants it looks like we will have over 60
highly motivated and
qualified practitioners to test, so the project has
a new level of
feasibility. We've gained cooperation from the
administration of the
Shambhala Mountain Center to additionally test staff
members at the center
to begin to address the "environmental control"
questions that we talked
about in our conversation. We are also deeply
interested in testing the
participants in the second retreat - these are the
people who are the
controls for the first retreat, so we will have
extensive baseline
information on them and they can serve as their own
controls. This aspect of
the project will effectively double the number of
retreat participants and
increase the statistical power of our analyses. I'm
presently structuring
the budget to accomplish these goals and will submit
to you a completed
proposal toward the end of the month.I don't know if you've had a chance to look at the
project description I
sent a while back. I will be in New York on Oct 19th
with time to meet with
you if that works with your schedule. I am also
happy to talk with you at
any time. Hope you had a great summer,My best,
Cliff
