J. Leeuwenberg and W. Halsema-Kubes, Beeldhouwkunst in het Rijkesmuseum, 1973, pp. 269-272
Ignatius van Logteren (Amsterdam 1685-1732) signed one of a pair of putti representing Seasons, and a marble relief of Venus and Adonis, both now in the Rijksmuseum (cat. nos. 365 and 367). In the Rijkmuseum there is also a gable carved with a cartouche and two orphans from the 'Keyserskroon' in Amsterdam by Ignatius van Logteren (cat. no. 366).
A pair of marble busts by Jan van Logteren, Ignatius's son, dated 1739, were sold Sotheby's, New York, November 28 and 29, 1980, lot 214, which illustrate the similarity of style between father and son.
